Sony MDP-911
The
Sony MDP-911 was available possibly late 1988, definitely Spring 1989 in Japan.
The MDP-911 sold for Y220,000 sported flashy gold coloured suspension feet and offered 425 line resolution (48db S/N) and 8 bit four times sub-carrier digital video processing. Dimensions are 470 x 123 x 428 and weighed 18kg. The player also had Y/C outputs. The front panel proclaimed 'Dynamic Combfilter'. The player also retained dual motor and drawer layout of previous generation models. Lower models in same family were MDP-711 which was visually identical to the MDP-911.
